Echo Vascular Technologist - Full Time

Description

MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, or Mammography on patients and works with members of the Hospital District and the community to improve the delivery of patient care.


Requirements

EDUCATION:

Minimum Graduate of 2 year accredited program in Diagnostic Ultrasound (Associate or Certificate) or Cross Training equivalent of 2 years good experience in similar environment. 

PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS:

Proficient in use of diagnostic ultrasound equipment in performance of ultrasound procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer knowledge essential. Good deductive reasoning skills/problem solving skills. Ability to relate positively to the members of the community. 

LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATION:

Minimum: Registered or Registry eligible ARDMS or Registered ARRT (S)

ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) - Required for Vascular

Registered or Registry eligible ARRT (R) if x-ray

Texas Department of Health CMRT if x-ray

Current CPR

EXPERIENCE:

Exemplary clinical education skills. One-year experience as ARDMS registered sonographer preferred. Proficient in general abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and small parts ultrasound. Prior didactic and/or clinical training in Vascular or Cardiac US preferred or must be willing to train in Vascular/Cardiac.

Proficient with a variety of ultrasound equipment especially Philips (HD15). Proficient with PACs, EMRs, teleradiology. Ability to work with computers (Windows OS). 

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Duties of the position requires extended periods of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion. Lifts up to fifty pounds, and occasionally heavy lifting in supporting or moving patients who may become weak or helpless. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.

Description

Provides respiratory therapy services for patients of the hospital as ordered by a physician to include interventional procedures, conducting pulmonary function testing, cardiac stress tests, holter monitoring, ECG, and arterial bloods gas analysis, and emergency respiratory support. Position is Part-Time/PRN, will be scheduled on "as needed" basis. 


Requirements

EDUCATION:

Associates degree in Applied Science Respiratory Therapy or equivalent

PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions. Oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment.
