Swing Bed Care

Memorial Hospital District of Seminole has utilized its inpatient Swing bed Unit for over 30 years. The swing bed program was developed to provide coordinated health care services to the community. The swing bed program gives us the ability to provide skilled follow up care to those that need assistance after an acute care hospital admission. The major benefit to choosing Memorial Hospital District’s swing bed program is the excellent staff and the ability to stay local for both the patient and the family. This allows everyone involved to receive the local hometown personal care that is hard to find in larger facilities. Our post-acute care that is offered allows for a better continuity of care. There are highly trained and qualified medical professionals that can provide a multitude of layers of care to support both the patient and the family.

Memorial Hospital District of Seminole’s swing bed program is beneficial to those who have a daily skilled need. This includes those who have sustained an injury and need short term rehabilitation, have undergone orthopedic surgical procedures, require an extended term of IV antibiotic therapy and are no longer acutely ill. This service could also be beneficial to those patients recovering from an extended hospital stay and are not able to return home to their prior level of function and have a skilled healthcare daily need. We have the ability to take patients from surrounding acute care hospitals. Visit with your physician to see if swing bed services may be appropriate for you.
